The Walnut Creek Planning Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Town Hall and is open to all . . . So what does the Planning Board do and why should you care?
The Planning Board is an advisory body to the Village Council. Among other things, the Planning Board has the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated, adjusted, and harmonious development of our Village in accordance with present and future needs considering health, safety, morals, and the general welfare, as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development, including adequate provision for traffic, promotion of safety from fire and other dangers, adequate provision for light and air, promotion of the healthful and onvenient distribution of population, promotion of good civic design and arrangement, the wise and efficient expenditure of public funds, and the adequate provision of public utilities, services and other public requirements. As you can see, the charter for the Planning Board is quite broad and all encompassing.
Is there something in any of those areas for which you have ideas or suggestions? Is there something about our Village that you feel should be changed? Then the Planning Board is the place to start. Feel free to contact me at Planning Board to get on the agenda or just pass on a concern or suggestion that you would like the Board to consider. You can also pass suggested agenda items to our Village Clerk or phone (919) 778-9687. Let's work together to make our Village the absolute best it can be.
Thanks.
