Beginning May 1, 2010, a new boating safety education law, initiated by the boating community and passed by the General Assembly will be implemented by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.
All Operators under the age of 16 arenow required to obtain a certification card before being able to operate a boat. Next year the requirement will be raised to 26 years of age effective May 1, 2010. The NCWRC game warden has already committed to conducting as many classes as the Village warrants for obtaining certification cards.
