The Village of Walnut Creek surrounds two large lakes and a top-rated golf course in the eastern part of Wayne County, North Carolina. Although Walnut Creek is a relatively new community, the tall pines, the majestic oaks and the flowering dogwoods give evidence that the beauty of the area has existed for many years.
Approximately 360 families enjoy the peace and tranquility of the village. There are only a few businesses within the corporate limits of the village and Walnut Creek is truly a neighborhood community.
The residents of the village elect a village council to govern the community. Darrell Horne Presides over the council meetings as Mayor of Walnut Creek. Danny Jackson is Mayor Pro Tem. Lou Cook is the Village Manager and Cathy Woodson serves the council as Clerk. Delisa Staps ensures a safe and secure community as she carries out her responsibilities as Chief of Police.
